Day Camp

There are multiple 2023 Camps to choose from!

We are hoping that 2023 is business as usual.  That being said, we will adhere to any CDC or MDH mandates that may come our way.   Any camp may be cancelled due to low registration, or the aforementioned regulations, but for now, we thought we would throw out a bunch of options and see what works.  In order to have the best camper (and grown up) experiences, we limit camps to 12 kids per session so sign up early!

The General Info:

Cost: $180 for 3 days of camp (plus sales tax – $13.28 according to my calculations) or  $60 per day (plus sales tax – $4.43).  A  $50 non-refundable deposit due at registration with the remainder due on or before the first day of camp.  (non-refundable unless we are unable to hold camp due to some kind of unforeseen calamity… say….. a new global health pandemic)

Date / Times: Camps will be held Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.  Camp starts at 9 am and ends at 3 pm (Often arrangements can be made for earlier or later drop off and pick up times – make sure to let us know if there is an issue)

What we do:

Each day will include a mix of age appropriate activities – farm chores, outdoor exploration time, animal time, snack, lunch, a craft or project and free outdoor play time.  (The  age groups are pretty general.  If you have a child you believe would do better with another age group just let me know!)

We emphasize problem solving, creative play, social and emotional skill building, teamwork, and natural consequences with a focus on empathy and compassion, with peers and with our animals.

Camp will be held rain or shine ( After all, life doesn’t stop if there is a little rain!)

A Day at the Farm – Generally speaking!

9:00 – Arrive at the farm!  Time to start the day!  We will all meet in the big red barn and have a quick orientation, introductions and instructions.
9:30 –  Morning Farm Chores – feed & water our animal friends, collect eggs, clean pens…
10:30 – snack
10:45 – Outdoor exploration time  – Nature hikes, scavenger hunts, a game of marco/polo in the hay field, bog walk or rock collecting…wherever our feet take us!
11:30 –12:00 – Lunch
12:00-12:30 – Free time
12:30 – 2:30 – Animal Time! We will get to know a different animal group each day.  Fun facts, farm purpose, hands on time.
2:30 – 3:00 – Project
3:00 – Campers leave the farm

What to bring: Camp will be held no matter the weather so bring weather appropriate clothing – shorts/pants, t-shirt/sweatshirt, covered toe comfortable shoes, rain gear & puddle boots on wet days

  • Bag lunch, two snacks and bottled water

  • Sunscreen and preferred bug spray

  • Any medications and instructions
