KUNEKUNE PIGS!

KuneKune Pigs are known for their docile easy personalities which makes them perfect for small hobby farms or as pets (and they taste good too!)

Kunekune, Pronounced “koo-nee koo-nee,” means “fat and round” in the Maori language. These tasseled, sweet-tempered, medium-sized pigs hail from New Zealand. While no one knows for sure, they are thought to be a cross of Berkshire, Poland China and possibly Gloucester Old Spots among pigs from Indonesia. KuneKunes were brought back from near extinction in the 1970’s and have been gaining popularity ever since.

Kunekune pigs may not be as popular as pot-bellied pigs, but more and more people are getting them for pets. Like the pot-bellied pig, kunekune are small domestic pigs, but unlike pot-bellies, they have long hair. Some argue that they are easier to care for than their pot-bellied cousins too.

We are registered breeders with the American Kunekune Pig Registry. Our piglets have gone for breeding stock, pets and meat.
